ABOUT THE PROJECT
We are looking for talented developers to create a reference design for a cutting-edge wireless communication platform. Our project aims to develop a qualification-ready software stack for a new microcontroller series, targeting IoT, smart metering, and logistics markets. You’ll work with a flagship microcontroller, radio module, and FreeRTOS, focusing on implementing sub-GHz FSK and LoRa protocols within a modern low-power wide-area network ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative IoT solutions and work with leading wireless communication technologies.
YOUR ROLE
- Port and integrate a wireless communication SDK to a new Cortex-M33 based microcontroller platform, focusing on proprietary long-range (LoRa/FSK) links;
- Develop low-level drivers and platform abstraction layers for radio peripherals and system components in a FreeRTOS environment;
- Implement direct radio control logic, including modulation, timing-critical operations, and RF state machine handling;
- Contribute to the bring-up of a new embedded platform, with attention to power domains, clock systems, and peripheral initialization;
- Support low-power operation, including standby/deep sleep transitions, wake-up sources, and peripheral reinitialization;
- Write reliable, maintainable embedded C code targeting memory- and power-constrained systems;
- Debug and validate link-layer behavior and RF stack integration in coordination with hardware and RF teams;
- Collaborate closely with system architects to define clean and portable HAL/driver interfaces;
- Document design decisions and integration patterns to support future reuse and scalability;
- Participate in code and architecture reviews with a focus on performance, modularity, and testability;
- Assist with configuration of embedded build systems, startup code, and linker memory layout.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software development using C;
- Strong understanding of Cortex-M architecture (preferably M33), NVIC, clock/power control, and interrupt handling;
- Practical experience with FreeRTOS and real-time embedded development principles;
- Hands-on experience developing or porting RF drivers (e.g., for LoRa, FSK, sub-GHz radios), not limited to using prebuilt stacks;
- Familiarity with direct radio control including transmission timing, modulation configuration, and hardware tuning;
- Experience debugging hardware/firmware issues with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RF instruments;
- Comfortable with embedded toolchains, CMake or Make-based build systems, and linker script editing;
- Knowledge of power management in embedded systems, including peripheral gating, low-power modes, and sleep/wakeup logic;
- Solid written and verbal communication skills in English (B2 level or higher).
NICE TO HAVE
- Prior experience porting communication stacks or SDKs to new hardware targets;
- Familiarity with LoRa and FSK modulation protocols, PHY tuning, and RF timing constraints;
- Exposure to proprietary LPWAN or sub-GHz protocol development;
- Experience working with Semtech, TI, or similar radio chipsets at register level;
- Knowledge of RF compliance and certification workflows (FCC, ETSI, etc.);
- Familiarity with PAL/HAL design patterns and portable embedded architecture principles;
- Background in low-level testing, link-layer validation, and system profiling for power and RF performance.
